    Each gram of Lax-A FibreTM contains 0.5 g of psyllium husk powder.

    Ingredients:

    Medicinal Ingredient: Each 7 g dose contains 3.4 g of Psyllium Husk Powder. Each gram of Lax-A FibreTM contains 0.5 g of Psyllium Husk Powder. Non-medicinal Ingredients (alphabetically): Silicon Dioxide and Sucrose.
    Each dose contains 26.5 calories. Suitable for sodium restricted diets. Each 7 g dose contains 2 mg of sodium and 3.6 g of sugar.

    Indication:

    Gentle relief of constipation and/or irregularity.

    Dosage:

    Adults: 1 rounded teaspoonful (7 g) of Mucillium®. Children (6 to 12 years): 1/2 rounded teaspoonful (3.5 g) of Lax-A FibreTM. Children (6 years and under): Consult a physician.

    Directions for Use:

    At the first sign of constipation, take 1 dose of Lax-A FibreTM up to 3 times daily. Put the powder in a glass and add 250 mL (8 oz) of cold liquid. Stir briskly and drink immediately. An additional glass of liquid is helpful. Maintain adequate fluid intake. Take 2 hours before or after taking other medications. Effects observed 12-24 hours after first dose, and may take 2-3 days.
    New Users: Start by taking 1 dose each day. Gradually increase to 3 doses per day if needed or recommended by your doctor. If minor gas or bloating occurs, reduce the amount you take until your system adjusts.

    Caution:

    Consult a health care practitioner if symptoms worsen or if laxative effect does not occur within seven days. Do not take a laxative within 2 hours of taking any other medicine. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are taking medications which inhibit peristaltic movement. AVOID INHALATION. Lax-A FibreTM may cause an allergic reaction in people sensitive to inhaled or ingested psyllium. Taking this product without adequate fluid may cause it to swell and block your throat or esophagus and may cause choking. Consult a health care practitioner immediately if you experience chest pain, vomiting, or difficulty in swallowing or breathing after taking this product. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you have symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or fever. Do not take any type of laxative for more than 1 week unless your physician has ordered a special schedule for you. Do not interrupt medication. Do not swallow in dry form.
    Keep out of reach of children.

    Contraindications:

    Do not use if you have difficulty swallowing. Do not use if you have diabetes mellitus in which blood sugar is difficult to regulate. Do not use if you are experiencing a sudden change in bowel habits that has persisted for more than 2 weeks, undiagnosed rectal bleeding, or failure to defecate following the use of another laxative product.

    Known Adverse Reactions:

    Hypersensitivity, such as allergy, has been known to occur following inhaled and/or ingested psyllium; in which case, discontinue use. May cause temporary gas and/or bloating.

    Storage:

    Store below 30°C (86°F). Keep lid tightly closed to protect from humidity. Filled by weight, not volume. May settle.
